BK 31 — Growth or Expansion

Expansion makes breaking larger. Growth makes it stronger. More events, audiences, sponsors, and platforms can create opportunity, but size alone does not guarantee cultural development.

Real growth also requires education, sustainable local scenes, support for artists, accessible spaces, strong relationships, and knowledge moving between generations. Without those foundations, rapid expansion can stretch the culture thin.

Reach and depth do not have to compete. Breaking can enter new spaces while continuing to strengthen its roots—but that balance requires intention and responsibility.
