EL LATIGO GITANO
El Látigo Gitano follows Lolo during the preparation for one of his fights, but the story was never only about what happens inside the ring.
Around him is a group of people moving towards the same objective.
His coach preparing him.
His family carrying the journey with him.
Friends and teammates showing up.
A crowd waiting to see him fight.
Lolo is now a professional boxer with a 3–0 record, but every fight represents much more than the result that eventually appears next to his name.
Behind those numbers are the hours of preparation, the sacrifices, the emotions before stepping into the ring and the people who continue to believe in where this journey can go.
The film follows those moments closely — from the preparation at the gym to the quiet minutes before the fight, the intensity of the ring and the people waiting for him when it is over.
What interested me was not simply documenting a boxer winning a fight.
It was documenting a mission being carried by more than one person.
Lolo is the one who enters the ring, but he doesn’t arrive there alone.
El Látigo Gitano is the first chapter of that journey.
Not a finished story, but a record of where Lolo, his family, his coach and the people around him were at this particular moment.
As his professional career continues, the archive can continue with it.
