BK 14 — Organizers vs. Dancers

Phase 2 — Culture & Practice

Organizers and dancers sometimes appear to stand on opposite sides of an event. Dancers want a fair space to express themselves, while organizers must manage budgets, schedules, venues, audiences, and everyone working behind the scenes.

A strong breaking event depends on both. Organizers create the conditions for people to gather, compete, and connect. Dancers bring the skill, energy, and culture that give the event its meaning. Neither contribution should be taken for granted.

The relationship becomes stronger through communication, transparency, fair treatment, and mutual respect. The goal is not to decide which side matters more, but to create events where both can thrive and the wider community benefits.

Reflection: What could organizers and dancers understand better about each other?
